Can I remove the ‘powered by’ image?

No.

All commercial live chat applications have powered by image. We need to get the word out as well.

The default powered by image of Comm100 Live Chat is:

You can change it to the other one:

Step-by-Step Instructions:

Step 1. Log into your Comm100 account;

Step 2. Click Code Plans in Live Chat portal;

Step 3. Click New Plan or Edit icon to bring up the Edit Code Plan – General Settings page,

and then you can select the powered by image in Powered By Image box.

How to create a chat button of the Text Link type?

There are four types of chat button you can pick up: Static Image ButtonFloat Image ButtonText Link and Monitor Only.

If you create a chat button of the Text Link type and then add the live chat code onto your website, your chat button appears as a text link on your web site.

Step-by-Step Instructions:

Step 1.Click Code Plans from Live Chat tab then click New Plan to create a new code plan;

Step 2. Fill in the general settings then click Next to bring up the Customize Chat Button page;

Step 3. Select Text Link then fill out the Text Content;

Step 4. Click Finish and you will be guide to the Get Code page;

Note: Please click Next if you want to do other customization.

Step 5. Copy the proper kinds of code according to your needs and then paste it to your site without any changes.

After that, a chat link appears on your site.

Note: After pasting the code onto the website, you can re-customize the chat button and need not paste the code again.

How to customize Offline Message Window?

Offline Message Window is used for your website visitors to leave an offline message when there are no online operators. There are three major customizable parts: Branding Image,  Greeting Messages and other Fields.

Step-by-Step Instruction:

Step 1. Click Code Plans from Live Chat portal then Icon Edit page to bring up the Edit Code Plan-General Settings page;

Step 2. Go ahead to bring up the New Code Plan – Detail Settings page then click on Offline Message Window;

Step 3. Customize the Branding Image in either of the following ways:

1) Select a Gallery image.

2) Customize the Offline Message Window with your own designed images.

Select Custom then paste the URL (e.g. www.comm100.com/images/comm100-logo.gif) of your branding image into the Input Box.

Note: To get the URL of the branding image, you need to upload it onto the internet (e.g. Your website server) first if it’s on your local PC.

Step 4. Predefine your Greeting Message by entering the content in the box;

Step 5. Configure the Visible and Required fields for Offline Message Window.

After that, your have successfully customized the Offline Message Window according to your needs. A simple Offline Message Window is as below:

Can I make my visitors show their names in stead of their IP in the Visitor Monitor window?

By default, the IP addresses of your visitors will be displayed in the Name column in Visitor Monitor window. There are two ways allowing visitors to enter their names which will be shown in the Name column in Visitor Monitor window:

1. Enable the Pre-Chat window and then, visitors are asked to enter their names before they start chatting with you.

2. Enable the option Allow visitor to enter a name during chat and then, visitors can change their display names manualy while chatting with you.

How to get the code without JavaScript?

There are two kinds of code available, with JavaScript and without JavaScript. The code with JavaScript is tapically used for web pages while the code without JavaScript is for BBS or Email.

You can find both kinds of code in Get Code page shown in the figure as below. To get the code without JavaScript, you just need to copy the second one.
